COMPOSITE CONTOURING

Composite Contouring allows for fantastic improvements in smiles by the skillful and clever addition of white filling material to teeth. This allows for the change in shape and size of teeth, along with limited color changes.

Often performed in 1 visit and provided as a cost effective solution, a new smile can be achieved without any major work being required.

WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE PROCESS?

I have a simple and clear assessment process for my patients and whilst we would all like things to be done instantly, it is from experience and success that it is necessary to make sure the correct protocols are followed. The following steps are involved in all the Smile Makeover and Full Mouth Rehabilitation work i do.

Detailed Consultation & Report - This includes photographs, study models, x-rays and intra-oral scans were applicable.

Diagnostic Wax Up - Reproduction of the envisioned smile result and restorative work on a model replica to test the appearance and functionality of the work.

Temporary Restoration Manufacturing - Once agreement on the correct treatment plan is reached, it will then be necessary to involve the laboratory to help produce temporary restorations that are replicas of the diagnostic wax up, and allow me to transfer these into the mouth after preparation work. This is an essential part of the process as it allows me to test the theory of the diagnostic wax up work in the mouth of each patient. As all patients have different habits and oral care, finding something that works, is durable and looks good is essential.

Fitting Of Restorative Work is a key appointment and i aim to provide this in one or two appointments. However complex cases often involve staged work and in some instances if the health of the gums is not satisfactory then we need to wait for it to improve or perform the work over a number of appointments.

Review appointments allow for refinement and tidying up of the work fitted. After long appointments, it is natural for both patients and myself to become tired and i often stage completion of work over a few review appointments to ensure that gum health is also improving along with the work being done.
